FOOTBALLS BACK!!

Everyone is looking forward to the return of football after the summer breaks and with the Scottish Season starting this weekend many football fans gather to fill that football gap in our lives. Let’s hope this season is less about death threats, referees and politics, with more talk about teams challenging Rangers and Celtic. Ally McCoist starts his first season in charge of Rangers and has a lot to live up to as they look for a fourth title in a row. Celtic’s boss Neill Lennon however possibly has more pressure on his shoulders, knowing that Celtic have not lost four titles in a row since the 1990’s. If they don’t win it this year he will most likely have to leave the club. Its set to be another close race between the two, but the league as a whole seems to be annoyingly predictable and struggles to compete for the attention of football fans once the English Season starts.

After the first day results showed Motherwell on top of the league with a 3-0 victory against Inverness and Hearts got a deserved 1-1 draw against Rangers after they went one-nill up in the 16th minute. Hearts are expected to again win the race for 3rd place with experienced SPL players John Sutton, Danny Grainger, Jamie Hamill and Mehdi Taouil joining to help cement that spot at the end of the season. With the strong performance against the champions yesterday they will stay favourites for that 3rd place. A slow start for Rangers at Ibrox will therefore give Celtic early incentive to get out in front in the race for the title. Facing Hibs today Celtic will be big favourites so a popular bet will be Celtic winning Half-time/Full-time to help get better odds.

With the Scottish Season off and running Celtic will be favorite's for the title and we can expect the media to do their best to find interesting stories whether it’s about football or not.
